Dr Sameer Mihrshahi
I completed my undergraduate medical degree with Honours at the University of Sydney in 1997, and trained in General Surgery in Newcastle and Sydney obtaining my Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2005.
I then completed 2 years of Fellowship training in Upper Gastrointestinal and HPB Surgery, firstly at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, and was then awarded the Lister Fellowship in Pancreaticobiliary Surgery at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
I commenced consultant practice in the UK for 4 years, firstly in Surrey and then in Bristol, in Upper GI and HPB surgery, and relocated back to Sydney in 2010.
I am a member of the IHPBA (International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association) and A-PHPBA (Asia-Pacific Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association).
I have VMO (Visiting Medical Officer) positions at Macquarie University Hospital, Northern Beaches Hospital, and Ryde Hospital.
I am currently the Clinical Discipline Head for General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery at Macquarie University Hospital, and just completed 9 years as Co-Chair of the Gastrointestinal Cancer MDT at Macquarie University Hospital.
